Stop Motion - Paranorman

Paranorman hit the theaters in 2012 it is an american stop motion film made by Laika studios this film brings the meaning of stop motion to life i felt like whilst i was watching the film i wouldn't take into account that every second of footage was just one picture an over time they have to move the models and some props to make sure the continuity eras are sorted out this film in my eyes has alot of tallent and also true passion put into it i can see why they take so much time with the animation so that they can also capture your heart, paranorman to me has alot of the 12 principles of animation by showing staging , sound so that in the right moment you would feel un-easy this is a work of art .

PinScreen Animation

Pin screen animation was created by alexandre alexeieff, on august 7, 1972, alexeieff and parker demonstrated the pincsreen to a group of animations at the national film board of canada. the original pinscreens built and used by alexeieff and parker had more than 1 million pins. Today those pinscreens are at the centre national. the pinscreen currently in Montreal has 240,000pins , the pins are usually pressed with a small tool, groups of pins at a time but with the pinscreens being so think you could have endless possibilities of making something and animation it through the use of pins.

Pixilation Animation

pixilation is a stop motion technique where live actors are used as a frame-byframe subject in an animated film by repeatedly posing while one or more frame is taken and changing pose slightly before the next frame or frames. the actor will become a living stop motion puppet, whilst having this living puppet to hand it makes the job at hand more difficult because that person will have to stay still frame-by-frame.
