OUDF504 - Character development

 

 

When it came to creating the first pictures I had drawn I wanted to get the feeling across what if the devil or evil me was just in ordinary clothes so that it would be a lot harder for the person watching to realise who was either good or bad but in the end I decided to go with it because I liked the fact that the viewer might have to decide for themselves who they think is the evil version and who is the good version of me but I hope that it comes across in the final piece.

OUDF504 - Green screen shooting for my film

When I started to film the VFX project I was wanting to use the lecture theatre at Blenheim walk but we wasn't able to so I had to wait till a later date the following week until I could start to film my project so that was one draw back for me then when we went to Vernon street to shoot the film I didn't realise how small their theatre was but in the end the style of the layout was everything that I was looking for in that I was wanting an old school type feel to the video plus as well for the shot and what my video was going to have in it I felt like it was the right place in the end to have it filmed their.

OUDF504 - character idea

 When i first started to design the costume for my first idea i wanted to go with a heaven and hell theme so i had alot of inspiration from the roman era in that the way their clothes fell on their body and then i enjoy everything about gladiators so then i wanted to start it up and draw things that would relate to my feelings about the rome period.

OUDF504 - Honey i shrunk the kids

Honey i shrunk the kids was the first film i ever saw that had these shrunk humans in and it literally took me by surprise with how well the film was when i was a kid i loved the film so much i wanted to in my own way pay homage to it by doing my own version of a shrunk person so that i could make it my own but this films art direction was delivered so well in my eyes i felt like it still lives upto standards today.

OUDF504 - Gullivers Travels

From the original to the old school version i watched them both and i enjoyed both but in my eyes i preferred the new one because it had everything that you would expect to see in a jack black film their was comedy and then action scenes that in my eyes went really well together they had blended it all in amazingly but then on the top of that you have this small town with a man thats to scale then you have the shrunk humans witch you can tell they worked alot on they look seemelsy blended into the surroundings they are in and thats why i want to do something with the small humans.

OUDF504 - Meet Dave

Meet Dave is one of those films where you can watch it and you forget that the smaller version of eddie murphy has been shot at a completely different point i just enjoy how the film went and then after watching it i realised that for my video i wanted to add a slight comical element to my film so then i would be able to make it feel more like something id do, but when i wanted to create the effects i had seen in the film where they had made it look realistic .

OUDF504 - Stuart little

i had chosen this film to take inspiration from an many others as well because this had shown me that creating something small to fit on the screen had to fit but in the right place at the right time so with watching these films it had came apparent to me that timing and shot framing was everything i needed to get the green screen right for all my shots to go perfectly.

OUDF504 - Harry Potter World

This is where i had made the choice to go with a different idea than before because of how much inspiration that i had got from the place i wanted to make sure that in my film it came across, whilst i was on the way around there was alot more stuff i could have chosen to use for the film but i wanted to go with the choice of slytherin house because they have always been my fave in the book so that's why i ended up choosing them for the final outcome.

OUDF504 - silent film

when i was coming up with the idea of how i wanted my final piece to come out i always had in the back of my mind why not make it into a silent film but with the right soundtrack it would convey the right depth in the film an that's what i wanted to do so i started to come up with the idea of when and where the dialog box would come up at the right moment so that the audience would know whats going on within the right time it would create the right mood and setting that i want to bring to my film.

OUDF504 - Star Wars VFX

After watching the within a minute for star wars i didn't realize how much work actually went into just one min of the scenes in star wars in the duel of fates scene their are only a few angels but with how much stuff that goes within the shots they make it look like its real life an that i think is amazing how they created the whole world that had to relate to the mater of anakin skywalker turning to the dark-side then when they had to add all the sound effects to every little detail it was amazing an made me think about how i could use sound in my owt video to make it feel the way i want it to come across.

OUDF504 - idea generation

When my second idea first came to me i was at Disney world Orlando an i was in the harry potter world part of the theme park an i realized that with the stuff i was buying from the place i would end up having some good props that could be used in the silent film that i would be making for the vfx project so when i was there i looked around the whole of the park and i ended up getting Voldemort wand and then the slytherin house book so that it would fit in nicely with the wizard film of mine .

OUDF504 - Idea generation

in my original idea i wanted to bring across that i would be battling with my mind and what could go wrong so in that way i was able to get across that the good and evil part of it would be the devil and the good side of me trying to make me do bad things but in the end with the new idea that i had its been tyed into the realm of magic where a lesson on how to do magic can go horribly wrong then out of know-where a little thing could just pop up and ruin everything .

OUDF504 - My idea changed

After alot of thinking and debating when i was going to create my first idea of the devil me and the good me on my shoulders i started to come get some complications when it came to thinking up of ideas on how to progress with it so from there i started from scratch with another idea that i though would work out alot better for me so then i would know that my vision for the final out come would be in better form than the first idea, in the new idea i decided to go with a vintage look on the film i want it to be a silent movie where all my expressions can bring it to life an hopefully that will have been achieved an come across in the end thing .
