OUDF401 Crysis 3 Review

Crysis 3 review

Crysis 3 is set in new york in 2047, 24 years after the events of crisis 2 you take on the role a prophet who has been looked up in cryo sleep for 6months by cell the evil organization that’s controls the worlds population and the law, crisis 3 takes you to a new setting you would be running around a brand new. New york it has been taken over by the vegetation and has been put under a glass dome to keep all the people their concealed and to make sure that they can never escape.

In this next instalment in the crisis franchise they tried to redo the shooting system in the game but for me I feel like they could have done more work on it the game it felt a lot like crisis 2 with how everything felt and flowed together yet it still felt bland and didn’t have that wow factor I was expecting even though they had decided to add a bow and arrow to the game to spice up the gameplay it still didn’t manage to give the game more impact that I was expecting

The graphics in the latest instalment had proven one of the best things about the game they had gone into such fine detail on what everything looked like they made sure that the game would look like a 10 outta 10 but that was the one thing that made the game more enjoyable for me because it had such beautiful graphics and a new physics engine that had brought the game to life in my eye.

Yet again the level design was satisfactory they could have added more combat in areas there was a great flow from how you could go wherever you wanted yet it still felt very structured like they are trying to make you follow one line all the time but it didn’t have that feeling now and again it had came into it but you never realised that much.

The new weapons in the game added more to the combat it was clear from the get go when you get given the predator bow then soon after that you are allowed to upgrade your armour but the new skill tree had a better more easy to understand feeling about it rather than crisis 2 it was a lot more complicated yet during this game it ran perfect throughtout.

OUDF401 - comparing joy divison to dunlop tires

Comparing Joy Divison – atmosphere to Tony Kaye Dunlop tries

During this short essay I will write about how the similarities have changed over the years by comparing joy division and Dunlop ties advert they both have the same similarities because they are both trying to grab the audience to entice you to either buy or listen to the music.

Joy division was film in such a way that it took you deep into the emotions of the song because it is trying to convey the message of being sad about the lead vocalist of the band passing away so throughout the video you see monks in white and black robes walking around holding a candle flame they did this so that they could get across the feelings of sadness and also the feelings of unease.

On the other-hand we see the video for Dunlop tires where this has had a very visual effect on the audience watching it they made it seem like the tires where an actual being to reinforce the point of them being tough and durable being able to last anything. But the where are a few quick shots to people wearing leather by doing this they are showing how the tires are trying to be tough but then you come to realise after watching the video.

For both of these videos even though they are completely different subjects they still have so many similarities by what they are trying to get across to the person viewing it but most of the time whilst you are viewing the video you don’t realise this happening to you.

During the time I have studied both videos I have come to the conclusion that they have both been very similar they both send across the same feeling whilst you watch them the only exception is that one of the videos is relating to tires and the other is related to a music video .

OUDF405 Final animation

for my final piece i made my two angry birds race against each other then i decided to add slow motion in parts so that you would be able to see the movement more clear then i decided to go with a plain background so that all of the attention would be on the birds itself rather than the scenery behind them

OUDF405 Angry birds in quicktime

whilst i had my final animation in the editing software i wanted to take an image of what the final outcome had looked like i was pretty proud of what i had created so i took this image so that i could demonstrate how my angry birds have came out like in the final piece .

OUDF405 Angry Birds

This was the second view of my creation in maya at this point i was nearly finished with the development of them i only needed to add the lights and then add the walls for them to jump over so i started to work with different colours so i could see what they would look like if they where not the original colour then i decided to stick with the original so that the viewers of my work would know what they are .

OUDF405 - My Angry birds in maya

For my first project using £d animation software i wanted to make a angry bird race in slow motion so i started of creating the red bird but i then decided it would have been better if i was to add another one so you could actually get the actually feel of a race going on so i then created the second bird it didn't take me long to make but i did struggle with maya at first because it was my first ever try at making a 3D figure in maya.

OUDF405 - Short Animation video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StxS51cR1Yk

when i wanted to look at movement in a character i started to use videos so i could get a rough idea of how they would interact with each-other so then i could get a rough grasp of how the environment would look and feel with the jumping movement of my angry birds.

OUDF405 Wreck-it-Ralph

I used Wreck-it-Ralph for my character development stage when i wanted to see how to develop my character i always looked at this because if they could create a 2D character and then develop that to being a 3D image i started to think would i be able to do that with my angry birds that i had chosen so i started to create mock ups of how they would look then i went on to make them into a full 3D image on Maya

OUDF405 Toy Story

Toy story had helped me in my animation because i needed to see how a certain toy would move throughout a world so i looked and was able to come up with a good way to make my angry birds move smoothly in the world i had created for them. this also helped me in how my final piece could have looked fully detailed and also life like.
